“Ami Ami Dogs, Seriously Cute Crochet” by Mitsaki Hoshi

Review by Pam Marr Rybinski

Are you a dog-lover and a creative parent, grandparent or crafter? This step-by-step manual for making adorable 2”, 3”, or 5” cuddly pups should make you extra popular with friends, family, or craft show participants! Plentiful illustrations are provided, mostly in color, and directions are easy enough for a patient beginner. Purebred illustrated samples and directions are given for the following: Chihuahua, Welsh Corgi, Japanese Shiba, Miniature Dachshund, Siberian Husky, Labrador Retriever, Maltese, Miniature Schnauzer, French Bulldog, Beagle, and Pug. In addition instructions are given on how to customize size and colors to duplicate your own special canine. Just don’t be surprised to see the word “knitting” in the book; in translation from Japanese, “knitting” seems to be loosely used as a synonym for “crochet.”
