“Mirabelle and the Bouncy Red Ball” by Michael Muller

Review by Pam Marr Rybinski

Looking for a cute book for your family toddler? You may want to check out the new dog-centric offering of Mirabelle, the adventuresome Boston Terrier, by her proud companion, Michael Muller. Muller adopted her at Christmas, 2006, according to a brief “Cape Gazette” bio. Muller’s 2012 series of books grew out of the “Adventures of Mirabelle” card line developed by the author at his Details gallery in Rehoboth, DE.

“Mirabelle and the Bouncy Red Ball” is Mirabelle’s first published adventure. It’s bound in a 5” X 6 ½” bright soft cover, and is suggested for readers Ages 2 and up. The vocabulary is upbeat and repetitive, perfect to encourage interest in learning to read. The whimsical illustrations encourage the turning of each page. Primary cover colors, in this case vibrant red and stark shiny white, showcase Mirabelle’s black and white beauty, and are almost guaranteed to attract the attention of a little one.
