“Corduroy Mansions” by Alexander McCall Smith

Review by Pam Rybinski

In a departure from his charming “No.1 Detective Agency” series of books, Alexander McCall Smith has enticed us dog-loving readers with an endearing picture of a Pimlico terrier on the cover page of his newest compilation. Freddie de la Hay, said Pimlico terrier, is one of a new network of Smith’s fascinating characters, a menagerie of odd-balls based in London. Don’t expect an action-filled plot. Smith deals gently with life’s joys and woes, in his own articulate and witty way. Warning: Alexander McCall Smith’s musings can be addictive.
