“Rescuing Sprite” by Mark R. Levin

Review by Pam Rybinski

The subtitle for this book, by “Bestselling Author” and “Radio Host” Levin, is “A Dog Lover’s Story of Joy and Anguish.”  It is a slice of a biography, but it’s difficult to determine whether it’s more about amazing rescue-dog Sprite, a Spaniel mix, or about Mark Levin himself. Both are older, health-challenged beings. Both offer unbounded love and support to the other. Both probably would have lost the two years or so that they had together, if it weren’t for the love and support of the other. Their bond strongly illustrates the benefits of rescuing older animals, particularly if one is older oneself . . . as long as there is a support system in place in case the human caretaker loses ground first.
