“No Dogs Allowed” by Bill Wallace

Review by Pam Rybinski

This Wallace-written story is another one for the kids, or the very young at heart. Kristine, a fifth-grader, has a time of it: a new baby on the way, a boy who drives her crazy with his teasing, and parents who just don’t understand what she’s going through. The topper, which clouds everything in her life, is the death of her beloved confidant and constant friend, her family’s 28 year-old horse, Dandy. An adorable yellow puppy is the last thing she wants in her life. She’s learned her lesson. She’ll never give her heart to anyone or anything again. No dogs allowed, period.
