“Christmas with Tucker” by Gregory D. Kincaid

Review by Pam Rybinski

Just in time to help relieve the holiday stress, this tale of hardship and community spirit comes along to help us remember what the holiday season is all about.  Tucker, an Irish setter, has an upbeat spirit that is contagious.  How he meets and complements his “forever” human, twelve-year-old George, is the backbone of the story.  Kincaid has captured the misery of a twelve-year-old who has suddenly lost his father, hints at the pain of grandparents who must deal with teenage angst as well as their own loss, adds a Kansas life-threatening blizzard during the holidays, and creates a sure cathartic tonic for today’s readers.
