“Bluetick Revenge” by Mark Cohen

Review by Pam Rybinski

The author’s clever presentation of unconventional characters and their unexpected actions, an opening Genghis Khan quote about happiness in vanquishing enemies, and a “poetic justice” ending, will surprise and delight readers almost non-stop.

Peopled by a law-firm burnout, an astrophysicist dropout, a recovering drug addict, motorcycle-riding drug dealers, an attractive professor at Peking University, and a prize-winning bluetick hound, the book flows from one unusual escapade to another.

Immersed in the action are reflections on the meaning of life, the wisdom of honesty, and the underlying puzzle of if, how, and when the bluetick hound will exact his revenge.
